Paint on wood

New wood surfaces

Before painting the wood, the surface must be prepared by sealing all knots and sanding it lightly with fine sanding paper. Then ensure the surface is clean (free from all dust and dirt) before painting. Apply 1 coat of Pera Sealer (MB-30) thinned 10% with water as a first coat direct on wood surface, making sure all sides are coated. Leave to dry for 3 hours and then apply 2nd coat Sealer (MB-30) un-thinned on top of the first coat. Leave to dry for 3 hours, before two coats PVA Grade 1 (MEAG) or Pera Fine Tex (MEH) or Pera Gloss PVA (MENG) are applied.

Previously painted wood surfaces

Before painting the wood, the surface must be prepared by removing all old chalking, flaking and loose paint as far as possible. Sand down surface. Then ensure the surface is clean before painting. Apply 1 coat of Pera Sealer (B-30) over the total area and leave to dry for 6 hours. Now 2 topcoats can be painted with Peralin Paints superior PVA Grade 1 (MEAG).
